What can TCE Software do for your company? The answer is simple: it saves a great deal of time and money by calculating tolerance capability at the early stages of design. Cost and quality are essentially designed into products (or not) in the early stages of the product introduction process, and there is probably no other design improvement effort that can yield greater benefits than careful analysis and assignment of tolerances.

This is where TCE Software can be used - offering a new means for accurate, consistent and rapid analysis and allocation of capable tolerances. The software has been designed to support the prediction of potential process capability problems, assessing the acceptability of design characteristics against likely failure severity and specifying appropriate process capability targets for internal manufacture and external supply.

Capable Tolerances The example below shows how manufacturing processes can be compared for the same component with relevant tolerances using TCE Software.

Material and Geometry The software enables the effects of material choice and design geometry on process capability to be assessed.

The underlying data in the software is representative of best practice in industry. It has been collected from a wide range of sources including International Standards, specialist organizations, engineering texts and experimental studies. Process maps include as many as twenty different data sources. In all cases the data is consistent with processes that are well established and fully developed. The predicted values of Cpk have been found to have very close correlation (98%) with SPC results.
