GD&T Symbol - Profile of a Line

Profile of a line is a 2-D tolerance zone which controls each line within the feature’s surface. Common applications include controlling individual slices of features where the cross section changes such as extruded parts where it is desirable to occasionally check individual slices.

Profile, by default, applies to individual surfaces. Where the profile tolerance applies to more than one surface (nX), it is indicated by the between symbol, from-to symbol, a note, the ALL AROUND or ALL OVER symbols, simultaneous requirements or a general note specifying a profile tolerance.
