This advanced training is designed for Department of Defense (DoD) vendors and contractors who are responsible for evaluating designs to ensure that assigned tolerances will support proper assembly and functional performance. The course focuses on tolerance analysis—examining how dimensional and geometric tolerances accumulate within an assembly and determining whether the resulting variation will still meet the functional requirements of the design.
In defense programs, where components are often produced by multiple suppliers and must assemble reliably in the field, understanding tolerance stack-up is critical. Participants will learn practical methods for analyzing tolerance accumulation and verifying that the specified limits maintain design intent, support interchangeability, and reduce the risk of costly assembly issues, rework, or delays in production. A solid understanding of GD&T fundamentals in accordance with the ASME Y14.5 standard is recommended before taking this course.
