Creating patterns of features may greatly simplify a drawing. Patterns of features may be used to establish datum reference frames. They may also take advantage of composite tolerancing. Three common ways to establish a pattern are:
- Indicate the quantity of repeating features.
- Use the principle of simultaneous requirements.
- Add a note.
